Panama’s standard entry requirements apply in addition to the requirements listed below.
Covid Test Required
Travelers will be required to present a negative COVID-19 PCR or antigen test taken no more than 48 hours prior to their arrival time in Panama. If a test is not possible within that time frame, a COVID-19 rapid test will be mandated at the airport before customs and the traveler will have to cover the costs of said test. (USD $50).
If you test positive for COVID at Tocumen International Airport you will be required to quarantine in a hotel designated by the Ministry of Health until you test negative. We strongly encourage you to get proof of a negative COVID test before boarding your flight to Panama. Start researching where you can get a COVID test in your area at least 30 days before your departure date. Do not wait until the day before your trip!
You should also check with your airline to see if they have any additional COVID restrictions.
When to arrive in Panama
Due to a larger than normal number of flights being significantly delayed or rescheduled, we recommend arriving on the Thursday before your tour starts if possible. We can make a reservation for you at our preferred Panama City hotel prior to your tour check-in date. The room will be at your expense but you can take advantage of our tour operator discounted rate.
4 Days Before Your Flight to Panama
Prior to check-in, all incoming travelers will be required to complete an Electronic Affidavit (sworn statement) agreeing to:
- Comply with all sanitary control measures outlined by the Ministry of Health of Panama.
- Provide localization information for residence while in Panama.
- Confirm that you are healthy (no symptoms of any respiratory illness) and that you have not been exposed to COVID-19 within the last fourteen (14) days.
- This electronic form must be filled out not more than 4 days before your flight to Panama.
