Panama’s standard entry requirements apply in addition to the requirements listed below.
COVID Test Required to Enter Panama
Travelers will be required to present a negative COVID-19 PCR or antigen test taken no more than 48 hours prior to their arrival time in Panama. If a test is not possible within that time frame, a COVID-19 rapid test will be mandated at the airport before customs and the traveler will have to cover the costs of said test. (USD $50).
If you test positive for COVID at Tocumen International Airport you will be required to quarantine in a hotel designated by the Ministry of Health until you test negative. We strongly encourage you to get proof of a negative COVID test before boarding your flight to Panama. Start researching where you can get a COVID test in your area at least 30 days before your departure date. Do not wait until the day before your trip!
You should also check with your airline to see if they have any additional COVID restrictions.
COVID Test Required to Fly to the United States
Air passengers are required to show proof of a negative COVID test taken within 3 days of their flight to the United States. You will not be allowed to board a flight to the U.S. if you test positive or refuse to take a test. COVID testing has been added to our tour itinerary.
Prior to check-in for your flight, all incoming travelers are required to complete an Electronic Affidavit agreeing to:
- Comply with all sanitary control measures outlined by the Ministry of Health of Panama.
- Provide localization information for residence while in Panama.
- Confirm that you are healthy (no symptoms of any respiratory illness) and that you have not been exposed to COVID-19 within the last fourteen (14) days.
For details see How to Fill Out the Panama Digital Affidavit Form.
