Learn How to Retire in Panama

Before I first came to Panama I did many months of research in addition to reading every blog or article I could find about Panama.  I watched hundreds of youtube videos.  I read books about Panama and books about expats who had moved to Panama.  But even with all that planning there were many things I did wrong during my visit.  I rented a car from a car rental company who would not accept my insurance so I paid $1800 to rent a car for 2 weeks.  I got international calling for my iPhone but I didn’t know I needed to also get international data roaming (or turn off data roaming) so I had a $1200 phone bill from AT&T when I got home.  The list goes on and on.  It cost me $3000 extra because I didn’t know what I didn’t know.

After telling friends that I really liked Panama and planned to move here, I started getting calls from friends who wanted to go with me the next time I visited Panama.  Within a few weeks 8 people wanted to come to Panama too so I found a driver, rented a bus and planned a 7 day trip.  We had a blast!

Amazingly, a few weeks after that first “tour”, I started getting calls from other people who wanted to come see Panama.  I discovered that many others were interested in learning how to retire or relocate in Panama.  So, that’s how Panama Relocation Tours was born!  I didn’t come to Panama with the plan to start a tour business.  But I enjoy doing the tours, love talking about life in Panama, really enjoy meeting with people from all over the world, and I like helping them make the transition to retire in Panama a smooth one.

Now, 12 years after that first visit and many tours later, I enjoy life in Panama more every day!  A whopping 67% of the people who come on the tours move to Panama and they all say that the information that got during the tour made it much easier to make the transition.  Here’s an example:

If you are thinking of moving to Panama and not sure where to start….this is it! Very well thought out tour, including visiting houses for sale or rent in various areas, local grocery stores to see what may or may not be available, an appliance and furniture store and a mall. You get to meet local ex-pats and hear of their experiences. We met with a lawyer who talked about Visa options and what is required for you to live in Panama. We were given a lot of good information on moving household goods, bringing pets with you, getting driver’s license and much more. After going on one of their tours or buying the online guide you can join a Facebook group that is helpful and supportive if questions or problems should arise. You could do it on your own I’m sure for less money, but why? They’ve helped hundreds of people move and have all the information you will need to save you from costly mistakes. All the guides were very knowledgeable! Thank you so much for all the information!!
