Today I got an email from 4 people who are moving to Panama after attending a Panama Relocation Tour. 37% of tour attendees make the move within a year.
Cheri Y. will be moving to Boquete February 27th. Joe F. will be moving to Boquete on April 1st. And Carolynn and Keith will be moving to Coronado. They wrote this
The tour was absolutely great, btw – gave us all the info we could possible need, and answered all of our questions – to let us decide whether or not to proceed further. We decided to explore further and came back last summer for the “rainy” season. You may remember we preferred the beach so stayed in Coronado for 2 weeks at Coronado Golf. The bottom line is that we bought a condo at Coronado Golf and will be moving down in June/July this year. Yes, we had only intended to rent for a year to see if we liked it, but loved this unit on the 22nd floor with incredible views, and believe we can get our money back out relatively easily if we decide to move back. There’s also a great expat community and we met lots of people we liked.
I recently was asked about a lot of questions by someone who is considering Panama for retirement, and now they are thinking about going down in the spring (almost said “coming down” – I’m thinking ahead). This is what I told them:
All the best to you and Melissa, and perhaps we’ll see you when your tours stop in Coronado!
This is the message Keith and Carolyn are sending to their friends and family…
Carolynn and I are very excited – we’re leaving the country permanently and moving to Playa Coronado, Panama – about an hour West of Panama City – see below:
You can swim in the Pacific in the morning, have lunch in the mountains, and swim in the Caribbean the same afternoon!
This is our new place in the Coronado Golf Tower in Playa Coronado (32 floor condo building in a gated community, with ground floor pool, 3 rooftop pools and rooftop gym, saunas and social area):
This is the view from the main balcony (there are 3):
Here’s the golf course and resort that we can use (pool, spa, 18 hole golf course, driving range, tennis, equestrian club, 3 restaurants, beach club):
And here’s the view from the beach club (pool, restaurant, saunas, non-motorized watersport stuff):
And if you get tired of the beach, you can drive to the mountains and in 30 minutes be in a rain forest, or go a little higher where the temperature is in the 70’s (F) all year long.
No snow again – ever.
Also, our place in Playa Coronado is fully furnished, so we are getting rid of everything here – condo on the water in Stamford, all furnishings, 2 cars, 2 boats, with 40’ dock and garage.
