Shortly after retiring as a school teacher in Las Vegas, Krstl visited Panama to explore retirement options in Boquete. She wanted to live in a place where she’d never need an air conditioner or a heater again!

She knew she liked everything about Boquete and thought she could make a move on her own. But, she quickly realized that she didn’t have a clue how to get a visa, which immigration attorney to trust, who the honest real estate agents are, how to get a driver’s license, buy a car, how to ship things to Panama, etc., and all the other things you need to know to move to Panama.

So she prayed for guidance. That’s when the Panama Relocation Tours website popped up!

She came on a Panama Relocation Tour to learn everything she needed to know and to know that she would have the support she needed after moving to Panama. That support came in handy a week after moving to Boquete when she realized she hated the place she rented.

Before coming on the Panama Relocation Tour, she rented the apartment sight-unseen. (a big no-no!)

The apartment was on Main Street. It was across the street from a church that had bells ringing early in the morning and across the street from a pharmacy with a neon green sign that shined into her bedroom at night. One of the bedrooms did not even have a window! To make matters worse, she could not open the windows because dust from the street would come in and the traffic noise was unbearable.

She was miserable!

Jackie, the founder of Panama Relocation Tours, found out she was not happy (from my bus driver) so I called her and told her to pack her bags. I helped her find a different place to live the next day! See this video of her talking about her move:

Once that lease was up, she moved to a different house further away from downtown to have more peace and quiet.

Krstl fell and broke her wrist and had to have surgery. After the surgery, she discovered that the essential oils she needed to heal and prevent scarring were not readily available in Panama so she found a wholesaler then started a business to sell high-quality organic essential oils. That business blossomed into selling other products too. My favorite is Organic Body Butter.

(By the way, it is common that people have to move two, three, or four times before they find the “perfect place” to live. That’s another reason not to rush into buying real estate!)

Then something magical happened!

Mark came on a Panama Relocation Tour in early 2020, just before Panama got shut down because of Covid. Mark had seen Krstl’s video then met her at the Tuesday Market where she sells her products. They went out for coffee a few times and discovered that they had a lot in common and are very like-minded.

As Krstl says, because of Panama Relocation Tours, she met the love of her life!

Krstl moved to Panama when she was 70 and would have never imagined opening a thriving business and falling in love too! She is so happy with her new life in Panama!
