If the U.S. dollar crashes like many financial experts warm will happen very soon, do you think Panama will switch currencies? Will Americans on S.S. be able to survive in Panama? I’d like to hear your insights.

    • Jackie Lange says

Ron, I can’t predict what the future holds. I’m not sure Panama would need to switch currencies if the US dollar crashes. The US dollar has been used on par 1:1 with the Balboa for 110 years. Since Panama is a market driver economy, if they don’t sell products or services, they make no $. There is no central bank in Panama. I think US citizen would be able to survive better in Panama than the US if there were a currency collapse. It’s more affordable.
