The Family Insurance Plan
Targeted at individuals under 60 and their families, the Plan Familiar offers comprehensive coverage against unexpected health expenses. It includes a significant annual coverage limit per person and overall lifetime limits. Enrollees receive an insurance card that allows them to access hospital services directly. The plan includes general medicine, specialist consultations, surgeries, maternity services, and emergency care. Family health insurance plans start at less than $35 a month.
Senior Health Insurance Plan
Hospital Santa Fe in Panama City offers a specialized insurance plan known as the “Plan de la Tercera Edad” tailored for seniors aged 60 and above. This plan has no age restriction, making it accessible to seniors of all ages. It is designed to provide extensive protection against unforeseen health expenses at an affordable cost.

Coverage Limits: The plan offers significant annual and lifetime coverage amounts ($200,000 annually and $500,000 lifetime).
Enrollment Eligibility: Applicants must be over 60 and complete a medical examination and health declaration as part of the application process.
Services Included: The plan covers a wide range of medical and hospital services, including consultations, surgeries, emergency services, laboratory tests, X-rays, and physiotherapy. It also includes ambulance service, if needed.
Provider Network: Medical services under this plan are rendered by over 300 qualified specialists and include all hospital services available at Hospital Santa Fe.
Costs: The plan uses a co-payment system, with premiums adjusted by age group. Premiums start at $143.74 per month for individuals aged 60-69 and increase for older age groups.
Payment Flexibility: You can pay premiums at Hospital Santa Fe, through Banistmo branches, or via automatic deductions (ACH) or credit card.
Grace Periods and Renewals: After the first payment, premium payments have a 30-day grace period during which coverage remains active. The insurer may adjust premiums or terms at each renewal, with 30 days’ notice before any changes.
