Retire in Alto Boquete Panama

Alto Boquete is a few minutes south of downtown Boquete which is called Bajo Boquete. Alto Boquete is not as crowded as Bajo Boquete. Alto Boquete has grocery stores, restaurants, doctor and dentists’ offices, and everything else you need to LIVE BETTER in Panama. Parking is more available in Alto Boquete than in Bajo Boquete.

Alto Boquete is a slightly higher elevation than Bajo Boquete, so it’s a little cooler. There are spectacular vistas in Alto Boquete. There are deep canyons on both sides of Alto Boquete that have waterfalls and incredible views.

You can find furnished rentals ranging from $400 to $2000 in Alto Boquete. There are several different neighborhoods in Alto Boquete. Some neighborhoods have North American-style houses, like Brisas, Boquete Country Club, or Los Molinas. Some neighborhoods have a mix of Panamanian-style houses and North American-style houses. There is something to fit every budget in Alto Boquete.

HI Constance. It’s better to SEE the rental before you sign a long term lease. So you should come to Panama, plan to stay in a hotel or AirBnb for a week or so while you are looking at rentals.

Hi Jackie, good day to you!
I’m thinking of moving to Panama from the US. I see Alto Boquete, Chiriqui as a place being highlighted, is it a good place to reside? Any good idea on the crime rate there?
Please share your candid thoughts. Thank you.

Hello. I live in Alto Boquete. crime is rare. There were a few houses broken in to earlier in the year with a few items stolen but the police found who the robber was and recovered the stolen items.
