Bonus Tip: Live just 10ā15 minutes outside popular expat communities and youāll save even more on rent, dining, and groceriesāwhile still enjoying easy access to amenities.

Plus, once you get a visa, there is no requirement to live in Panama āso you can keep a flexible travel schedule. To maintain your visa, you are only required to come back to Panama for at least one day every two years.
Top-Quality, Affordable Healthcare
Panamaās healthcare system is modern, reliable, and incredibly affordable. You can choose from public or private hospitals, with many English-speaking doctors trained in the U.S., Canada, and Europe. In many cases, youāll pay a fraction of what you would back homeāwithout sacrificing quality.
Private health insurance plans are also very affordable, and many retirees pay under $150 a month for excellent health insurance coverage.
Even better: many private hospitals in Panama now accept Medicare Advantage for urgent care or emergency services, often with zero out-of-pocket expense. This means you can get world-class care without the financial stressāsomething thatās not possible in many other retirement destinations.

What an educational experience! John and Victoria were our tour guides, and despite dealing with several medical emergencies amongst our group, they kept things running smoothly and disseminated a WHOLE lot of information about moving to PanamĆ as we traversed a good portion of the country. Comfortable bus, nice lodgings, and three meals a day of (mostly) delicious food. If youāre thinking about moving down to PanamĆ , I would HIGHLY recommend you take this tour.

My wife and I went on PRT tour number 275 in February and had a great, educational tour of Panama. The two guides were fantastic and we learned alot about the country and it’s various cities. We plan to retire and move there very soon! Highly recommend the tour!
