William’s $500 Rental with a Pool

William recently moved from Oaxaca, Mexico to Panama. With the help of a Private Tour guide, he found a great rental – a furnished two-bedroom with a pool for only $500. All utilities are included in his rent.

What’s the “secret” to finding rental deals like this? Use a Private Tour Guide to help you find a rental and AVOID towns with a lot of expats. If you move to a town that is not full of expats or move to a town 15-30 minutes away from expat communities, you can significantly reduce your cost of living in Panama.

William uses public transportation to get around Panama. He will discuss more about his life in Panama during the live stream. Also, learn why he moved from Mexico to Panama.

Watch the replay of the Livestream to learn where William moved to and what he thinks about living in Panama.

Are there “No See Ums” where William lives?

    • Jackie Lange says

NO see ums are mostly at the beach.

William is indeed very fortunate in his undertakings to Panama residency both time wise and the professionals Jackie helped him to undertake their services.
What are affordable areas of Alto Boquete where its not very cold to rent or buy. I say “buy” because we have Cats, Dogs and 🦜
Parrots coming from Florida eventually. Thanks…

    • Jackie Lange says

Alto Boquete is more affordable than Bajo Boquete but if you go further south to Dolega, it’s even more affordable

Hey Jackie, I was in Panama on your 208th tour. I also spent time in San Jose near Coronado for 3 weeks after the tour. It was a little too hot, but on the tour Boquete was a little too cold. They weren’t my sweet spots. It was also too noisy two blocks away from the highway in San Jose. I did meet some lovely folks and everyone was so kind to me. That’s what’s drawing me back. I mentioned this to Debbi, our awesome tour guide, and she suggested I look into Dolega. I’m thinking of coming in December(I’m still waiting on a couple of things to line up for me in Canada) to the area and my budget, like William’s, will be around $500. Is William’s rental property an oddity? As per your advice I don’t want to rent anything until I see it for myself, but is there any reason to hope for such a property when I wont be there until the height of the high season? Thank you and please say hi to Justin for me. He encouraged me a whole bunch when I started investigating the possibility of coming to Panama.

HI Julie. The further away from expat communities you get, the more affordable rentals are. William got a great rental price because he is not living in an area with expats. I know another guy who rents for $220 in Santiago, which is a town with only a handful of expats.
